National Dog Day 2022

Posted on: 26th August 2022, by Magrathea

In celebration of National Dog Day today, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the newest member of our “Magdogs” team.

Dash is a 2-year-old lurcher from Ireland and was part of a loving family home. However, sadly through a change of circumstance he had to be surrendered to rescue in April this year. Dash struggled with depression and even stopped eating whilst at the rescue centre and really needed to get back into a loving family setting. Sighthounds are not an overly popular pet in Ireland, so his stay was a fairly long one.

Greyhounds 4 U have a great relationship with the rescue in Ireland and have brought numerous hounds over for homing in England. They contacted their UK followers to see if anyone was willing home him. Lucy and her husband Steve (who have rehomed dogs from them previously) say “we saw his skinny picture and our hearts melted”.

Dash arrived at his new home with Lucy and Steve at 2:30am on Thursday 11th August, and has been settling in perfectly. He clearly loves a cuddle and has claimed his spot on the bed, he’s even been to a CrossFit session and dog agility training already! Dash has even has his induction in the office on 19th, he was such a good boy making sure he was keeping watch over us all and  ensuring he kept the sofas warm.
