International Fraud Awareness Week

As we reflect on last week’s International Fraud Awareness Week, we have been thinking about how far the telecoms industry has come in trying to tackle telecom fraud, since 2018 when Ofcom first published new General Conditions of Entitlement (you can see what we wrote here)

 

Telecom Fraud is an increasingly sophisticated threat targeting individuals and businesses alike and we know as an industry we must continue to work together to keep ahead of the perpetrators. However todays telephone systems are not only complex but also evolving rapidly, so keeping ahead of the fraudsters while ensuring legitimate business is not interrupted is an ongoing challenge, and one we summarised when we looked back at all that has been done regarding scam callers here.
