Employee spotlight for February – Ashley

Posted on: 15th February 2024, by Alison Kerevan

For February we finally managed to catch up with Ashley, she’s not easy to track down as she is always very busy; as well as helping clients she’s often found attending industry meetings or buried deep in rate sheets.   When not seeing wonderful sights of course…

What are your favorite things about working for Magrathea?

The feeling of being part of and belonging to a team, supporting our clients and each other. And the biscuits!

What are the most significant changes in the time you have been here?

I’ve been with Magrathea for nearly 20 years now, so there are many! When we first offered portability to customers, each order had to be completed manually, printed and faxed!

Our growth is something to be very proud of, in our team and our network.

What do you think will be the biggest challenges for the telecoms industry in 2024?

One Touch Switch is going to be the biggest, I think, with the additional development of OTS porting and GPL business porting.

And finally, how do you enjoy spending time outside of work?

I love to travel and have decided that a bucket list is not just for looking at!  This year I will be visiting Jordan to see Petra and Wadi Rum, and Kenya where I will hopefully fulfil one of my dreams of seeing a wild elephant.  I am an enthusiastic amateur artist, I enjoy painting and drawing, and I also (try) to keep fit, lifting weights and swimming.

As always Ashley is very modest.  She is a very talented artist and her pictures look wonderful on our office walls.  We also know how passionate she is about supporting the preservation of wildlife and whilst in Kenya will be seeing a very special elephant she sponsors, who is looked after by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.   https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/

We can’t wait to see the pictures.
