August staff profile – Sara

Posted on: 12th August 2025, by Magrathea

This month we caught up with Sara – who has just completed her first year with Magrathea, and is part of our business development team, taking care of all things Marketing.

We wanted to know how she has found this first year and find out a little bit more about her…

Sara, tell us a bit about your role, and what does a typical day look like?

I look after anything marketing related, so look after our social channels, our on-line presence and also any events or other customer focused activities we are doing. No two days are the same – I could be pulling together information for our Newsletter, tweaking our website, posting on our social media accounts or writing an amusing article showcasing a typical day for our canine co-workers (example here)!

You are new to the telecoms industry, but not to the tech space – what are some of the things you have noticed in your first year?

I have worked in tech for (very) many years and thought I was quite familiar with most of the acronyms, but I had to learn a new language coming into telecoms! I spent my first month or so ‘googling’ all the TLA’s to find out what they meant! But everyone has been very helpful and welcoming – and patient!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I think it is the variety of what I get to do. Plus, the desire as a company to continuously improve means that I get to work on some interesting projects that will ultimately benefit our clients while also aligning with our values.

If you had to describe your job using a film title – what would it be?

Gosh… I think ‘’Inside Out’ – as I am usually trying to project our culture, voice and brand in what I write so trying to resonate from the ‘inside out’!

And finally, what do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy being outside, so you can usually find me off walking somewhere with my dogs – either close to home or further afield. Usually such walks take in a village pub (garden) also!  I also enjoy learning new things so often can be found with my nose in a book or doing online courses. I also have 3 grown children so is always lovely to catch up and spend time with them also.

Sara – thank you for chatting today, here’s to your next year with us!
