This month we caught up with Abby – who is a client support specialist here at Magrathea. She is part of our client focus team and here to help any client seeking support. Abby handles many complex faults and gets involved in a wide variety of projects.
We wanted to know a bit more about what she does and find out a little bit more about her.
Abby – we last caught up with you nearly 5 years ago! Tell us a bit about what you do now and what you enjoy about working at Magrathea?
Much the same as 5 years ago still part of the Client Focus Team – I really enjoy working with my colleagues and dealing with our clients, plus I like the flexibility of working from home and in the office.
And what do you least enjoy?
Ported number faults – we are seeing more and more of these as the switchover continues and with the issues often outside of our control and with no SLA it can be very frustrating. Fortunately, most of our clients understand the challenges but we always dislike providing less than great service, even when it’s not within our power to fix it!
What are the most significant changes in the time you have been here?
Our teams have grown and changed and developed. I also think as a business, our understanding of how our industry is changing to all IP hopefully keeps us in front of the curve.
The 21st of this month is International Customer Support Day – do you have any advice or tips for anyone thinking of getting into telecoms or a client support role?
Be good at listening and learning, and being brilliant! Also try to answer the phone with a smile as you can hear it down the phone!
And finally, how do you enjoy spending time outside of work?
I enjoy going to the gym and lifting heavy stuff – am currently trying to work towards dead lifting 100kg!
It was a pleasure catching up with you Abby – and good luck with the 100kg challenge!
