On the 26th of July, a team of determined Magrathea staff – known as the MagSteppers – laced up their walking shoes to conquer the Thames Path Mighty Hike, all for the brilliant cause that is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Following the success of last year’s half marathon challenge, the team decided to take it up a notch this year and completed the full marathon. Their commitment to training paid off and with pretty perfect weather and a strong team spirit, after around 8.5 hours of walking they crossed the finish line still smiling and only slight footsore. They’ve smashed their fund raising target of £1k, with a current amount of just over £1.6k. This will all go to Macmillan – a charity that offers practical, emotional, and financial help to people living with cancer.
We know that the thought of their sponsors kept them going, along with the odd pit stop and the fantastic comradery. The team even managed to find a telephone box on the way.
We are really proud of them and are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated and encouraged the MagSteppers along the way – they couldn’t have done it without you (… and the blister plasters).
