Today – on World Hello Day – we celebrate the power of connection through the simple and timeless act of saying ‘hello’. This day focuses on promoting communication and advocating the importance of interpersonal connections. At Magrathea – as we specialise in voice communication – we’re proud to enable interactions that keep people connected, no matter where they are. ‘Hello’ is the precursor of all-important conversations and simply talking to people and communicating can help improve our mood and general wellbeing.
However – as proud technology geeks – ‘World Hello Day’ also got us thinking about the words ‘Hello, World!’ In the tech world, “Hello, World!” is often the first phrase we use when learning to code—a simple start that opens up endless possibilities. From the early days of BCPL & C programming – ‘Hello, World!’ has been used as the test program used across the board, from students of new programming languages to experienced coders as a sanity check for new software or source code installation. What a versatile word Hello is!
