Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field within computer science that focuses on the development of smart machines or technologies capable of performing tasks that normally require a human brain.  It is used to enable machines / computer systems to apply intelligence and learning to achieve specific goals, using an ability to adapt without human intervention.

AI tools are becoming more prevalent and increasingly part of every-day life. They have the potential to automate tasks, improve decision-making, and provide valuable insights into business operations. We are also aware that there are understandable questions about how AI is being used in relation to reliability, security and bias.

AI at Magrathea:

Whilst we’re keen at Magrathea to follow and understand how AI is developing, we will only consider its use where it makes sense for our business, clients, and team.

That means:

  • we are a true platform – agnostic wholesaler, we develop and maintain our own network
  • where we engage with 3rd party suppliers for ancillary support services to our operations we undertake due diligence to understand how they use AI
  • we will only employ AI where and when it helps us to work smarter in our day to day operations
  • in considering when and where AI can be used in our operations we follow the voluntary DSIT Code of Practice for the Cyber Security of AI and AI Cyber Security Code of Practice – which can be found here.
  • any AI technologies we use or create, protect and respect the privacy and security of personal data of our clients and team.
  • we will always endeavour to make AI-related decisions that are transparent, fair and free of any harmful bias.

Humans will always be at the heart of our work and success at Magrathea; only where it makes sense will AI be employed and created to help us be more brilliant, more skilled and more responsive.
